The Optimux-4T1L ( OP-4T1L ) multiplexer combines four T1 channels over a single fiber optic link

The Optimux-4T1L ( OP-4T1L )  multiplexer from RAD combines four T1 channels over a single fiber optic link (a pair or a single fiber optic strand). A pair of  Optimux-4T1L ( OP-4T1L ) units offers simple and low-cost connectivity at distances of up to 120 km/74 miles (see Figure 2).

The Optimux-4T1L ( OP-4T1L ) multiplexer combines four T1 channels over a single fiber optic link

Optimux-4T1L ( OP-4T1L ) transmits each of the T1 channels independently, so that each T1 channel can have a different clock source.

Optimux-4T1L ( OP-4T1L ) can operate opposite an Optimux-4T1 standalone unit, or an Optimux-4T1C card for the LRS-24 rack with central
SNMP management. This option provides a compact, cost-effective central solution (see Figure 1).

Various optical interfaces are available on the RAD Optimux-4T1L (OP-4T1L ):

850 nm VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) for multimode fiber 1310 nm LED for multimode fiber

1310 nm laser and 1550 nm laser diode or long haul laser for extended range over single mode fiber

Single fiber (SF1, SF2) using a 1310/1550 nm laser diode with WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technology, which enables
the laser to transmit the signal at a different wavelength than the receive signal

Single fiber (SF3) using SC/APC (Angle Polished Connector) technology with a 1310 nm laser diode for single wavelength operation.

To facilitate system diagnostics, Optimux-4T1L ( OP-4T1L )  features LED status indicators, AIS alarm generation and recognition, and dry contact
closure upon link failure.

Setup, control and diagnostics can be performed via a supervisory port using an ASCII terminal, or a SLIP connection to an SNMP
management station.

Network management is possible via RADview, RAD’s SNMP-based network management system.

RADview is available in a windows-based or Unix-based version.
Optimux-4T1L ( OP-4T1L ) is available as a compact 1U high, half-length unit that can be mounted in a 19” rack.
