DNX-11 from Sycamore Networks
DNX-11 carrier class Multi-service Cross-Connect

The DNX-11 is a network workhorse that serves as the cornerstone for service provider build-out strategies worldwide. A DNX-11 populated with any mix of module sets across 11 slots can terminate services from as many as 88 T1/E1s, 6 DS3s or STS-1s, 7 E3s or two OC-3/STM-1s, and has a non-blocking switching capacity of 168 T1/128 E1 equivalents.

The DNX-11 system can be configured for AC or DC redundant load-sharing power supplies, with independent inputs from power distribution panels; and the System Manager Controller (SMC) can be non-redundant or redundant at all levels of operation. Using the PSX-5300 Protection Switch in tandem with the DNX-11 ensures full redundancy on electrical interfaces on an N+1 basis.

DNX-11 Product Highlights
DNX-11 Compact (6 RU) Footprint – brings DCS functionality to smaller and/or remote locations without sacrificing carrier-class reliability, interface flexibility, or growth options.
Hot Swappable Modules of the DNX-11 – allow network maintenance with little or no disruption to service.
Non-Blocking 3-1-0 Switching of the DNX-11 - utilizes a high-speed, cross-connect switching fabric with full granularity to DS0 levels.
DNX-11 Application Flexibility – leverages all narrowband and broadband interfaces in the DNX portfolio, including T1/E1, T1/E1 APS, T3/E3, STS-1, and OC-3/STM-1, while retaining the ability to groom multiservice traffic by performing non-blocking 3-1-0 cross connections.
DNX-11 Resiliency – offers several layers of protection for designing resiliency and availability into DNX-11 based transport networks. Capabilities include redundant control, switching, and power circuitry, device-level protection, Automatic Protection Switching (APS) for facility link protection, automatic re-routing of traffic to alternate paths in the event of primary path failures (path protection), and even site protection (disaster recovery) options.
DNX-11 System Management – benefits from the advanced capabilities of the ENvision Plus NMS. ENvision Plus works with the DNX-11 to simplify connection provisioning, improve network resiliency via automated path protection and site protection, streamline event and alarm management processes, and provide visual test access and line diagnostics. Other capabilities include multi-level topology views and bandwidth reporting utilities for low-level management of the switch fabric.
