The 4W FXO provides for one 4-wire analog interface between a VF transmission and signaling facility and the Total Access 1500 Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) backplane. The FXO interface provides for simultaneous four-state signaling in each direction for use with 4-wire Off-Premises Extension, carrier extended PBX Trunks, or subscriber line Foreign Exchanges using ground or loop start signaling system.
