AS2000 Configuration Guidelines
1. Select appropriate shelf
(a) Determine shelf capacity.
(I) Standalone Configurations: Two-slot Dual-line Shelf (DLS)
(II) Standalone Configurations: Five-slot Quint-line Shelf (QLS)
(III) Central or Hub Site Configurations: 13-Slot Multi-line Shelf
(MLS);3 options
(b) Determine Domestic or International application.
(c)
Determine AC or DC power supply requirements. (DLS 2100
includes an AC/DC option in the same power supply.)
2. Select appropriate controller card for shelf configuration
and management. (optional)
(a) NCM 2000 SNMP manageable: Manages all standard AS2000 shelves and application
modules. Ability to manage multiple AS2000 systems or hundreds of ports. A
second NCM may be added for redundancy.
b)
SCC 2xxx SNMP manageable: Manages ONLY standard AS2000 shelves and ONLY AS2000 TAC,
TIU and DIU application modules. Ability to manage up to four Multi-line
Shelves (MLS). The SCC 2xxx also serves as a single T1 CSU or DSU/CSU.
(c) NCC 2xxx- Non SNMP: Used with Access Manager 2000 (AM 2000) Network Management
Systems (NMS); manages ONLY standard AS2000 shelves and ONLY manages
AS2000 TAC, TIU and DIU 2130 and 2140 application modules. Ability to
manage up to two Multi-line Shelves (MLS).
The NCC 2xxx also serves as a single T1 CSU or DSU/CSU.

Select appropriate AS2000 application module(s) for your
application based upon controller module selected.
(a) Determine FT1/T1, E1, nxT1/E1 or T3 application.
*All AS2000 bundle packages include a CD-ROM. Hard copies
of manuals and additional CD-ROMs may be purchased separately.
