The ISDN circuit is perfect for small office or home office (SOHO) applications at speeds up to 128 kbps. A standard BRI offers 2 channels each capible of speeds up to 64 K. Since there are two channels there is an opportunity for versatility if it is called for and if you have the right equipment. In most cases the demands of a SOHO are met by the first channel. This allows the second channel to be available for use as a voice or fax line. When the second line is not in use the full 128 K is available if needed on large file transfers. For higher bandwidth demands such as those of video teleconferencing, the right equipment will allow the bonding of several ISDN BRIs to meet the demands of the application. Many manufacturers offer such equipment. The factors that separate one from another are such things as expandability, ease of installation, features, and of course cost. Some of these units are couple with built in routers for LANs. With so many factors to consider we can not show every possible solution but here a some possibilities. For help locating the product right for you, call us with the details of your application. The pricing shown for the manufacturers listed is kept as current as possible and only shows manufacturers' list price. It is intended to be used for estimates and is not guaranteed against changes by the manufacturer nor does it reflect your final cost.
