HDSL - High bit rate Digital Subscriber Line is designed to provide users with T1 or E1 full duplex circuits over two pair of wires without POTS service. HDSL will travel a considerably greater distance without the use of repeaters than a T1 circuit,   generally a distance of 2.3 miles (3.7 Km).  The downside however is that you cannot put a repeater on a HDSL line. This technology is well suited for large company campuses.
