Network Management ties it all together. The GDC TEAM applications provide a convenient,
user-friendly means to perform common network management operations on GDC's SNMP-based
products. The TEAM applications are seamlessly integrated into the HP OpenView network
management software platform. TEAM applications utilize an intuitive point-and-click
architecture that provides easy access to powerful management tools including
configuration, status, diagnostic testing, statistics, alarm details and reports. Alarms
are integrated into OpenView's event browser and are represented as color changes on
OpenView icons. Graphical views of equipment shelves and detailed front panels are
accurately rendered and maintained. HP OpenView provides a central management platform
which discovers, maintains, and manages GDC devices as well as any IP addressable devices.

TEAM applications are merged seamlessly with HP OpenView which allows the entire
OpenView feature set to be utilized with GDC devices.
All GDC proxied devices are represented as individual objects on OpenView submaps.

SSC Controller
The SSC Controller permits a full range of network management functions to be performed
cost-effectively for many of today's NMS dataset networks. This DOS-based software package
operates from a single user 486-compatible personal computer and provides controller
support for up to 1024 NMS-based network elements. It does so by forwarding commands from
the central site to various NMS modems, digital datasets, restoral devices and supporting
system products. Up to eight serial ports carry secondary channel diagnostic information,
enabling configuration, diagnostics, surveillance routines, and restoral functions.
