The TSU 100 (part# 1200052L3 ) (T1 Service Unit) is an intelligent, full-featured, T1-FT1 DSU/CSU. Designed to interface customers' Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) to T1 or Fractional T1 services, the TSU 100 (part# 1200052L3 ) is fully compatible with D4 or ESF framing formats and with AMI or B8ZS coding. When in ESF framing mode, the unit satisfies both ANSI T1.403 and AT&T 54016 modes for utilization of the Facility Data Link (FDL). For DTE connection, a base V.35 and EIA-530 DTE interface is provided on the rear of the TSU 100. The user selects one interface, which can be configured to operate synchronously at nx56 or nx64 data rates where n=1 to 24. The channels used can be selected at random. A major feature of the TSU 100 (part# 1200052L3 ) is an expansion slot that accepts a single expansion module. A number of application-specific modules and plug-ons are available to provide flexibility and room for growth. The option modules currently available include: Nx56/64 (V.35), DSX-1 PBX, OCU DP, 2FXS+, 2 FXO, 4E&M, D & I, DBU, SNMP agent and V.34 modem. The TSU 100 (part# 1200052L3 ) is configured using the keys and LCD display on the front panel. The display presents an easy-to-follow menu structure allowing the user to configure, monitor, and test the TSU 100 (part# 1200052L3 ). An optional software package, called T-Watch PRO(TM), is available to interface to a rear-mounted, daisy-chainable control port. The T-Watch PRO software runs on a PC under Windows(R), and allows full access to monitor and test several local and remote TSU devices. Pop-up menus provide complete configuration, diagnostic control, and access to performance data. SNMP Management is provided through a plug-in SNMP agent module allowing the unit to be monitored by popular SNMP programs such as HP Openview(TM). Unit configuration can also be accomplished using the integral Telnet interface. Several tests are built-in to allow the user to diagnose the health of their T1-FT1 circuit without the need for expensive test equipment. Several local and remote network loopbacks can be initiated from the front panel or T-Watch PRO. The user can also select test patterns, including 511, QRSS, and 3 in 24. If desired, external equipment can be used in interfacing to the TSU 100 (part# 1200052L3 ) by Bantam test jacks located on the rear panel. Features of the TSU 100 (part# 1200052L3 )
